This week will be a bit more open to interpretation, and may require some imagination!!!
This week’s Mineral of the Week (MotW) is anything “cosmic-looking” or “alien-like” or something similar. Go for it!
This theme was inspired by a recent report of another new Peacock spider, Maratus constellatus, which entomologist Joseph Schubert named in honour of the twinkling blue and yellow heavens in Vincent Van Gogh’s iconic painting “Starry Night”.
Photo is both Cosmic AND Alien! Hematite from Mount Shadwell, Mortlake, Victoria. 5mm across.
