Now that I have some (ahem!) spare time, I decided that I would pull up the weed mat around the front of the house, and deal with any wayward weeds that dared appear.
What I didn’t expect was to find this mini sink hole! Definitely an ankle breaker!
Could it be an old shaft opening up? There is a deep lead that runs under our area.
But no. I think it was once a tree that had probably been cut down to ground level and the roots and stump left to rot. Then just covered with weed mat and mulch.
No I need to find some spare soil to fill it in…
