I attended a Zoom presentation tonight by Angus Miller of Geowalks. Angus has arranged a number of Lockdown Lecture sessions on various aspects of Scottish geology. Geowalks is also on Facebook.
Tonight’s presentation was called “Scotland on the move”, was very interesting and informative, and took us through the geological journey of Scotland based on the evidence from the rocks. At times, Scotland has been situated in the southern hemisphere, even close to the South Pole!
Some of the sessions times make it difficult for me to participate (3am my time) but at 8pm, more than manageable.
I will be joining the one coming up on Wednesday, “City of fire: the volcanic history of Edinburgh”.
