Saleeite, Lake Boga, Victoria

I will be spending more time from next week on The Collector’s Guide to the Minerals of Lake Boga publication, once we get the last of the tradesmen out.

One of the minerals that Boga is well-known for is the magnesium uranium phosphate, saleeite. It generally forms as greenish-yellow platy crystals that are VERY strongly fluorescent.

The header image shows the specimen under longwave ultraviolet (left) and white light (right), and the photo width (of each) is 5mm.
