This week’s Mineral of the Week is torbernite, a copper uranium phosphate.
The topic for my next Collector’s Guide will be the minerals of Lake Boga, Victoria. Torbernite is one of the many minerals found there. This photo actually has four mineral species, but you need to look closely to see some of them: the green platey crystal group is torbernite, the tiny glassy yellow crystals are cyrilovite, the tiny light green blobs are chalcosiderite, and the opaque yellow crystal groups is (possibly) crandallite. That one needs confirmation.
